Guidelines
DOKKIT is for arguing well. Two people take a side, make their case in turns, and everyone else votes on who was more convincing. That only works if people feel safe making an unpopular argument — so the rules protect the argument, not anyone's comfort with being disagreed with.
What's completely fine here
- Strong disagreement. Unpopular, contrarian, or minority positions.
- Being wrong. Changing your mind. Losing.
- Sharp, sarcastic, or blunt writing, as long as it's aimed at the argument.
- Topics people find uncomfortable, if they're posed as a real two-sided question.
What gets removed, every time
- Threats of violence, or encouraging self-harm.
- Posting someone's private information, or trying to identify an anonymous user.
- Targeted harassment — following a person around the site to attack them, pile-ons, or content whose point is to degrade a specific person.
- Slurs and dehumanizing language about a group.
- Sexual content involving minors — reported to the authorities, no exceptions.
- Illegal content, or using DOKKIT to plan or promote illegal acts.
- Spam, scams, vote manipulation, and impersonating a real person or organization.
What gets removed in the debate itself
- Arguing in bad faith on purpose — refusing to engage, sea-lioning, or answering a different question than the one on the docket.
- Using the opening or rebuttal slots for abuse rather than an argument.
How moderation works
Nothing you post is screened by software before it goes live, and no automated system reads your posts. Moderation is people. If you see something that breaks these rules, use the Report button — a moderator reviews every report and either dismisses it (the content stays) or removes the content. People who repeatedly break the hard-line rules lose access to the site.
If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, reply on the report or get in touch — we'd rather fix a bad call than lose a good arguer.
